Job Description

The MSL will serve as a liaison to the medical/scientific community and will be responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining relationships with prominent experts in the emergency and neuropsychiatric fields within the hospital setting, including MDs, DOs, NPs, PAs, RNs, and pharmacists. The successful candidate should reside in Washington State, Oregon, or Colorado.Accountabilites
  • Build, maintain, and manage professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in the emergency medicine and neuropsychiatric fields within the hospital setting, including MDs, NPs, PAs, RNs, and pharmacists.
  • Ensure the appropriate dissemination of clinical and scientific information regarding marketed and pipeline compounds in a timely, ethical, and customer-focused manner.
  • Implement clinical and educational strategies in collaboration with other company colleagues for designated customers. This includes organizing medical and scientific training sessions, conferences, round tables, and symposia in medical centers and during scientific congresses in the US.
  • Collect and send pharmacovigilance information to the appropriate department.
  • Ensure insights and competitive/scientific intelligence are continuously received, evaluated, and shared with HQ.
  • Align with field commercial colleagues to ensure that strategic imperatives are met at key institutions.
  • Work to pair our key customers’ educational and research needs with available resources and provide the latest emerging data in response to specific healthcare professional inquiries.
  • Assist or lead new medical affairs projects as necessary or assigned by the manager.
  • Work with colleagues in Clinical Development to identify quality clinical trial sites, to solve enrollment challenges, to uncover early insights, etc.
Required Education, Skills and Experience
  • Advanced scientific degree required (PharmD, PhD with patient-care focus)
  • Emergency medicine background and experience working with multiple different medical specialties including pharmacy
  • Prior experience as an MSL or cited prior activities demonstrating aspiration to become an MSL
  • Knowledge of clinical research processes and FDA promotional guidelines/regulations/ethics applied to the pharmaceutical industry are preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal one-to-one and one-to-many, written, and presentation skills) are required.
  • Maintain a current and ongoing understanding of pharmaceutical and promotional compliance guidelines, laws, industry standard practice and applicable regulations.
  • Must be able to cite examples of prioritization and work efficiency in a constantly changing environment. Examples of successful KOL engagement and impact through virtual interaction must be cited.
  • Must have the ability to gain customer feedback, uncover business opportunities for company and pair customer's unmet needs with available internal resources.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and associated hardware (PC laptop, iPad) are required.

Work Environment
  • The MSL position is associated with approximately 60% domestic travel, with occasional international travel (passport required). Restricted travel initially may be in place due to COVID-19 policies, with an expectation that work-related travel will commence at some point.
