Job Description

The Security amp; Compliance Engineer is responsible for executing day-to-day tasks around supporting internal and external security compliance assessments and improvements.

Will be responsible for the continuous measurement and enforcement of high standards for Security. Will work across our customers to ensure that security commitments are being upheld, and identify areas for improvement.

Will perform hands-on threat modeling, risk assessment, and cloud-native security validation and remediation.


Day to Day:

  • Identify and define system security requirements
  • Provide analytical support for cybersecurity commitments by participating in customer risk assessments, mapping internal policies and controls to customer requirements.
  • Participates in Security Incident Response processes and activities as appropriate.
  • Analyze and document adherence to modern security standards.
  • Work with various stakeholders to ensure software and data implementations are aligned with internal security policies and customer security requirements.
  • Audit data access, appropriate use of software, and cybersecurity training compliance.
  • Suggest and drive cybersecurity improvements to level up our customer business.
  • Contribute updates to security processes and policies to meet evolving business needs.
  • Create/update customer guides and training materials for cybersecurity related changes.
  • Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Customer mindset with excellent communication skills to support both internal and external customers.
  • 1+ year of experience in Cyber Security Compliance or related fields.
  • Understanding of IT, secure cloud software, automation, and security compliance frameworks, standards, regulations and requirements. Familiarity with at least one information security regulation such as SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or HIPAA is a plus.
  • Experience documenting security risk assessments and achieving/maintaining security certifications such as SOC 2.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions to integrate new processes and policies with our customers business strategy and requirements.
  • Exposure to Networking amp; Security concepts and activities such as Identity and Access Management, Encryption in-transit and at rest, Authentication, Authorization, Vulnerability and Patch Management, Antivirus/Antimalware technologies. Expertise performing Penetration tests focused on both systems of customers, as well as approved third party software and vendors is a plus.
  • Knowledge of server (Linux, Windows) and client (Windows, OS X, Linux) operating systems
  • Exposure to container orchestration technologies as Kubernetes.
  • Cloud Security Best Practices applied to Engineering/Architecture.
  • Familiarity with application vulnerability monitoring and management reports.
  • Ability to automate processes through scripting: Shell, Python, PowerShell or similar
  • Participates in Security Incident Response processes and activities as appropriate.
