Job Description
RecargaPay is the Super App that simplifies everyday payments for consumers and SMEs in Brazil.
The platform streamlines payments for over 6 million Brazilians by consolidating credit and debit cards, instant payments like Pix, and Open Finance, on a mission to democratize mobile payments and financial services in Brazil.
Featuring services such as bill payments, mobile top-ups, public transportation, installment plans, and loans, designed with convenience, low cost and flexibility in mind. RecargaPay is changing the way both banked and unbanked Brazilians make their everyday payments and access their financial services.
Responsibilities:
- Lead technical research and evaluation for USGAAP and IFRS in a variety of complex areas including revenue recognition; internal-use software development; stock-based compensation; equity and debt arrangements; new product launches; and the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of technical guidance contemplated by the Financial Accounting Standards Board [FASB} and the International Accounting Standards Board [IASB].
- Responsible for technical accounting memos and conclusions including review and approval by management and the Company’s independent auditor.
- Collaborate with members of the accounting team on writing and maintaining accounting policies.
- Collaborate with the external reporting team in the preparation and review of the financial statements as well as supplemental information included in the investor presentations.
- Work as part of cross-functional teams with accounting, legal, investor relations and finance to execute various special projects and transactions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on US GAAP/IFRS
- Collaborate on external and internal audit reviews over the financial statements for both BACEN and USGAAP, for annual and interim periods basis.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements for mergers and acquisitions.
- Develop and deliver training on US GAAP and IFRS accounting principles to other members of the accounting team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance;
- CRC/CPA desirable;
- Strong USGAAP and IFRS accounting experience required, preferably within the technology/software industry or in Big 4 public accounting firm assignments on clients with similar requirements;
- Experience with revenue recognition, equity accounting, equity and debt arrangements and internal-use software development;
- Ability to explain / teach complex accounting topics and requirements;
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to take ownership of projects and deadlines and hold others accountable to deadlines and deliverables;
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence tools;
- Must be fluent in Portuguese and English. Fluency in Spanish is desirable.
